Tisha Emerson (East Carolina University)

Tisha Lin Nakao Emerson is the James E. and Constance Paul Distinguished Professor and Economics Department Chair in the Harriot College of Arts & Sciences at East Carolina University. Dr. Emerson joined the faculty at ECU in July 2023 after 23 years of service at Baylor University. She teaches courses in environmental economics and international trade as well as introductory and intermediate micro theory. Her research is predominantly in the area of economic education with focuses on the efficacy of active learning pedagogies and diversity in economics. Tisha is the chair-elect of the American Economic Association’s Committee on Economic Education and is a facilitator in the EDUCATE program (Expanding Diversity in Undergraduate Classes with Advancements in (the) Teaching (of) Economics). She has served on the program committee for CTREE (Conference on Teaching and Research in Economic Education), is a past a co-editor for the Southern Economic Journal and associate editor for the Journal of Economic Education, and serves on the editorial board for the International Review of Economics Education. Tisha also currently serves on the AP Macroeconomics Development Committee. In 2016, Tisha was awarded the Kenneth G. Elzinga Distinguished Teaching Award by the Southern Economic Association.

Simon Halliday (University of Bristol)

Simon Halliday is an Associate Professor in the School of Economics at the University of Bristol, UK and a Faculty Research Affiliate at the Center for Advanced Study (CASBS) at Stanford University (2023-24). He has co-authored (with Samuel Bowles) an intermediate-level microeconomics textbook: Microeconomics: Competition, Conflict, and Coordination (OUP, 2022) and works in economics education, behavioral and experimental economics, and economic development. Simon is also the co-leader of the enCOREage Project. In a new textbook, Understanding the Economy, focused on students in North America, the enCOREage team will introduce content that draws students in because it addresses societal problems students care about while building employability skills, belonging, and inclusion into the curriculum.

Dimitra Petropoulou (London School of Economics and Political Science)

Dimitra Petropoulou is a Professor (Education) in the LSE Department of Economics, where she is also Deputy Head of Department (Education). Dimitra has extensive experience in curriculum design and innovation, as well as in training and mentoring economics educators. She also leads the Conferences and Symposia group of the Economics Network, which most recently organised the Developments in Economics Education (DEE) 2023 conference.
