“Get to Know Your Professor” video series

Dr. Ramin Nassehi

This is a relaxed and friendly conversation between a student and a lecturer or TA, whereby the student asks their “professors” about their academic journey, research interests, inspiring books or articles and personal hobbies. This project aims to build a closer connection between students and academic staff, while providing students with a voice to probe into topics or stories they find interesting and inspiring about their lecturers. This project also develops various research and presentation skills of the student who leads the conversations. You can watch this series here.

Optimizing the Course Evaluation Process

Prof. Parama Chaudhury and Prof. Cloda Jenkins

We’ve been working on trying to increase response rates and information content of our course evaluations over the past year (including running a randomised controlled trial to test the effects of various different setups), and now have a evaluation poster showing our findings. A preliminary draft of the full paper will be presented at the AEA’s Conference on Teaching and Research in Economics Education. The most up to date version of the paper can be found here.
