Silvia is a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Economics at UCL. She possesses a 16-year national and international academic experience. She has been teaching in a wide array of modules, both at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels, in UK and Italian universities, such Oxford, Royal Holloway and Bocconi.
Silvia’s areas of expertise include applied and international economics as well as macroeconomics. She is currently working on economic crises duration as well as export-FDI substitutability in China. Silvia is also pursuing two lines of pedagogical research related respectively to personal tutoring and teaching methods in economics.
Silvia holds a degree in Economics from Bocconi University, a M.Sc. in Economics for Development from Oxford University and a Ph.D in Economics from the University of Pavia. She is a Senior Teaching Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and, before joining academia, she has consulted a number of national and international institutions, such as UNESCO, DFID and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Trade.
